2028 - The year of the Monkey
26th of January

THE MONKEY
2028, 2016, 2004, 1992, 1980, 1968, 1956

Monkeys are the ninth of all zodiac animals. According to the myth, the Jade Emperor said that the order would be determined by the order when they arrived at the party. Monkey, Rooster and Dog are in a different state and help the gods to defeat evil spirits. Then they left together. Since they arrived at the same time, the Jade Emperor followed the order in which they met the gods in a different state. So Monkey was ninth.

Since monkeys like to eat peaches, they also became associated with longevity over time. In Chinese culture, peaches are symbols of longevity. The monkey is yang.

Gregarious, intelligent and witty, monkeys are geniuses of the zodiac. Nothing is too hard for them and even if it is, they won't budge until they take a crack at it. They are inventive, adore challenges and have a deep respect and understanding of knowledge. Monkeys like being in the thick of things - the bigger the better!
They are also immensely flexible and can easily save their hides through clever flattery, manoeuvrings and strategising. Confident to a fault, the seldom give two hoots to the opinions of others. But monkeys are plotters and planners who exploit situations to their own advantage. hey also lose interest quickly if they are not the centre of attraction.
Monkeys are so self-absorbed and insecure, they don't trust easily and need to constantly better themselves in front of others. Petty matters somehow always become big issues with the monkey.

The date of the Vietnamese New Year is determined by the Vietnamese calendar, a lunar calendar. The same calendar is used in countries that have adopted the Confucian and Buddhism tradition and in many cultures influenced by the Vietnamese. Vietnamese New Year starts on the first day of the new year containing a new moon (some sources even include New Year's Eve) and ends on the Lantern Festival fourteen days later. This occurs around the time of the full moon as each lunation is about 29.53 days in duration. In the Gregorian calendar, the Vietnamese New Year falls on different dates each year, on a date between January 21 and February 21.
